Meet The Staff of Dr. Ruskiewicz's Office

Our friendly and helpful staff is ready to serve your every eye care need, from vision testing to helping you select glasses and frames, from explaining available options like glare or scratch-resistant coatings to helping you with insurance forms and procedures.

Doug Allen, Licensed Optician

Doug has worked in the eye care profession for over 20 years, for both public companies and private opthamalogical and optometric practices. In addition to his expertise in eye care, Doug has a degree from an arts college in New York and has worked as an illustrator.

Doug and his wife Susan (who is also an Optician in Dr.Ruskiewicz's office) live in Royersford. They enjoy "chocolatiering" as a hobby and may one day make it an entrepreunial venture.

Doug says, "I have always appreciated the personal interaction with patients that I enjoy while working as an Optician. I believe that the needs of the patient must always be a priority at both the beginning and the end of the process."

Rebecca Ruskiewicz, Finance Administrator and Frame Fashion Consultant

Rebecca joined her husband, Dr. Ruskiewicz, in July of 1985 to handle bookkeeping for the practice. She is a graduate of Philadelphia University (formerly known as Philadelphia College of Science and Textiles), and her areas of study included fashion design and accounting. She enjoys helping patients with the all-important task of finding glasses that give them the look they want. Rebecca is pleased to be able to make a contribution to the practice and to spend more time with her husband. She recently sent her youngest, a son, off to college and also celebrated the graduation of her daughter. When time allows, Rebecca enjoys tennis in Worcester Township.

Susan Allen, Optometric Technician

Susan has worked in the opticianry field for over 20 years, including 11 years managing an office for an ophthalmologist in New Jersey. She is married to Doug Allen, an Optician in our office, and her sister and brother-in-law are both optometrists; eye care and vision improvement are common interests in Susan's family!

Susan and Doug live in Royersford and enjoy working together in eye care. They take great personal satisfaction in helping people with their vision needs.

Cindy Haney, Receptionist

Cindy coordinates the patient schedules in the office, and previously worked in the Daniel Boone School District for four years as an instructional aide in kindergarten and first grade classes. She and her husband Doug and their daughter live in Douglassville where Cindy is a member of the Child Development Committee at St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Pam Keller, Optometric Assistant

Pam joins our office after working many years as a floral designer and also as a home health care provider. She lives in Exeter Township with her husband and two sons. The oldest has been teaching music in the Reading School District for three years. The youngest is a sophomore studying music education at Lebanon Valley College. In her spare time, Pam's favorite activities include cooking, baking and searching for new recipes.

Tonya Spears, Optometric Assistant

Tonya recently relocated to Gilbertsville from the Hartford, CT area with her husband and youngest daughter. Her oldest daughter will graduate from Centre College in KY in May, and her son, who stayed behind in CT, will graduate from high school in June. Tonya graduated from Stetson University in FL with a degree in Russian Studies, and went on to Ohio State University where she studied Polish and Bulgarian as well. She continues to teach piano, which she has done for the last 17 years. Other interests include gardening, sewing, quilting, and playing with her Bernese Mountain Dog, Barquer.
